The Vimleshwar temple is a Shiva temple located in the Wada region of Devgad, Sindhudurg District of Maharashtra, India. It is a well-preserved example of ancient sculptural art, and is considered a unique archaeological monument. The temple is surrounded by coconut and beetle nut plantations, a feature that added to its attraction for tourists. The temple is built of monolithic rock. Five images are carved near the front door of the temple and two elephant sculptures are also carved. The Shivling is 12 feet deep in the Garbhagriha. This temple, carved into a laterite rock, is a fine model of ancient sculpture. Temple of Lord Shiva amidst coconut and betel nut plantations in Wada. The front of the temple has five naked stone idols with huge elephants guarding the temples from either side. According to local belief, the temple at Wada was built in the Pandav era. Many Herstones are placed near this cave temple. Within the 12 foot deep sanctuary is a sacred phallic image of Vimaleshwar Shivalingam. There is also a small Ganesh temple nearby. Vimaleshwar Cave Temple is considered a unique archaeological monument. A special attraction is the continuous flow of water from the rock near the cave all year round. It is very difficult to reach Shiva Linga in the cave due to the darkness. Bats hang everywhere in the cave.
